Having run a Doctors office for over ten years as the office manager, Jo found herself charged with stealing over $100,000. from the office. Jo was innocent. With many children and grandchildren she was responsible for, Jo felt overwhelmed and desperate.The case finally came to a head when the only offer by the State Attorney’s office was a prison sentence for something she did not do.
With a three day Jury Trial in the main courthouse in Saint Lucie County in front of Judge Mirman, Attorney Ken Padowitz ripped into the States witnesses on cross examination. As each witness was strategically and surgically eviscerated, Jo began to have more confidence that her nightmare may soon be over. Former 30+ year Hollywood Detective Richie Allen provided his tremendous investigative experience as a Defense Investigator during the trial.
After one hour of deliberations, the six member jury returned their verdict. The courtroom grew silent as the Jury foreperson handed the verdict form to the court deputy. The clerk read the verdict aloud. Not Guilty. The muted sounds of crying could be heard from Jo as she hugged her lawyer.
